178 -182 Cambridge Street is a neighborhood retail shopping center located in the heart of downtown Burlington. Summit Realty Partners represented its client in Shaw's supermarket's acquisition of the property as part of a planned redevelopment which will includes demolition of the existing structure and construction of a new state of the art 70,000 square foot full service supermarket with an in store pharmacy and bank and a 7,000 square foot relocated wine and spirits store. The project has full planning board approval with construction commencing spring/summer of 2002.

The project involved two very complicated land acquisitions as well as lease buyouts or modification negotiations with six tenancies on the property. Negotiations had to delicately balance tenant's site requirements for maximizing gross sales, the needs and concerns of neighbors and the long term view of the Town of Burlington's vision of the town center, all of which were accomplished.
